When I was initially searching for family hotels in Cala d’Or, I was pleased to discover that this gorgeous resort town is super family-friendly.

With its beautiful shallow beaches and variety of family-focused restaurants, Cala d’Or is the ultimate place for a beach escape with your little nomad(s).

Located in southeastern Mallorca, Cala d’Or is not only amendable to children, it’s actually one of the most family-friendly spots on the island! This beautiful area is filled with family-centric hotels like you’ll find in this guide as well as kid-friendly beaches, child-friendly restaurants, and more.

A family-friendly hotel is exactly what it sounds like – a property that’s set up to accommodate families traveling with young children. Some common features of family-friendly hotels include cribs/highchairs, kiddie pools, playgrounds, kids’ clubs, and childcare services.

That really depends on what you consider too touristy. Yes, there are hotels and restaurants specifically set up for tourists vacationing in the area, but it’s also a convenient place to visit, as all amenities you’ll need are right nearby.

This is especially helpful when you’re traveling with kids, as you won’t need to go far to find dinner, diapers, and other everyday conveniences.

A great budget-friendly option for the family – with impressive surroundings – is the lovely Hotel Calimera Fido Gardens. Frankly, you could’ve fooled me into thinking this was one of the 4-star Cala d’Or family hotels at first glance!

Located mere steps from beautiful Cala Egos beach and surrounded by lush gardens, this beachfront property offers nearly 300 rooms. While you won’t find ocean-view accommodations here, the rooms are comfortable and understated, including singles and doubles.

The family-friendly calling card of Hotel Calimera Fido Gardens has to be its wide variety of outdoor water slides, providing hours of entertainment for younger guests. In addition, there’s also a splash pool and a pool bar so parents can enjoy as well.

Guests can take advantage of all-inclusive packages or opt for an included breakfast and dinner when booking. International meals are served at the hotel’s buffet-style restaurant.

Families can also hit the sports courts, featuring everything from tennis to paddle ball.

Hotel Calimera Fido Gardens is located at Sa Cova Blanca, 1, 07660 in Cala d’Or, Mallorca.

Free street parking is available for guests.

Situated between two bays, Robinson Club Cala Serena offers families a uniquely beautiful setting in Cala d’Or.

The 300+ rooms range from a variety of doubles to a junior suite offering a private balcony or terrace.

This 4-star offers an impressive four pools, including a sports pool, a heated fun pool, a heated indoor/outdoor combo, and a kiddie paddling pool.

There are three restaurants (and five bars!) on the property, including the main restaurant as well as two à la carte options. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as daily spa access and parking are included in the hotel’s inclusive packages.

Spa treatments and a golf course are also available for guests looking to unwind.

As far as family hotels in Cala d’Or go, it’s hard to beat the kid-focused programs and services offered at Robinson Club Cala Serena. Families looking to enroll the little ones in childcare can do so starting from three years of age up to six days per week. Programs include a variety of sports and entertainment.

There are also options available for younger guests (starting at age 0).

Robinson Club Cala Serena is located at Av. Calo Petit, 1, 07660 Cala d’Or, Mallorca.

Part of the esteemed World of Hyatt collection, Alua Suites Las Rocas offers a jaw-dropping location on a rocky ledge perched atop the sea.

This all-suite hotel is located just steps from the beach. It offers 201 one- and two-bedroom suites that can accommodate up to five, making it ideal for traveling families.

Rooms also feature a separate living room area (perfect for creating separate zones) and each offers a private terrace or balcony.

Alua Suites is also home to three outdoor pools, one for adults and children, one exclusively for adults, and a kiddie pool.

Breakfast is served at the hotel’s buffet restaurant and can be added on when booking a stay. An all-inclusive package is also an option.

Those looking to enjoy sports as a family can take advantage of the property’s tennis and pool tables, beach volleyball area, multi-sports court, and mini club for the kids.

Alua Suites Las Rocas is located at Avenida Es Fortí, 107, 07660 Cala d’Or, Mallorca.

Situated just steps from gorgeous Cala Gran (one of my favorite beaches in Cala d’Or), Prinsotel Alba & Spa is one of the most ideally-located family hotels in Cala d’Or.

The hotel features 226 airy and spacious suites, including a private terrace suite with a mini pool.

Prinsotel also offers a large outdoor pool as well as a children’s pool and two heated pools located indoors.

There are two main restaurants on site: Kitchen market (featuring Mediterranean cuisine) and Picco Pizza & Sushi.

Guests can unwind with a wide selection of relaxation and beauty treatments offered at Alma Spa.

Prinsotel also offers a bike-rental service for fun-on-wheels for the whole fam.

Prinsotel Alba & Spa is located at Carrer de sa Conillera, s/n, 07660 Cala d’Or, Mallorca.

Free on-site parking is available for guests and an electric-vehicle charging station is also provided.

A lovely boutique option amongst these wonderful family hotels in Cala d’Or, MarSenses Natura Olea Hotel is the latest addition to the MarSenses Hotels & Homes collection.

This fresh condo-hotel-concept offers 70 spacious rooms, some of which overlook one of the hotel’s two outdoor pools.

A crib is offered upon request for 5EUR per child, per night.

One of the property’s highlights is Natura Olea Restaurant, offering delicious Mediterranean cuisine easy walking distance from the beach. A buffet breakfast is also included for guests.

A pool bar is also located at the main pool, offering hot and cold beverages as well as refreshments from morning until evening.

MarSenses Natura Olea Hotel is located at Carrer des Forn, 29, 07669 Cala d’Or, Mallorca.

Another wonderful family-friendly option in the MarSenses collection is the beautiful MarSenses Ferrera Blanca Hotel Family.

This all-inclusive property includes 139 updated and fully-equipped rooms (some with pool or sea views), and offers everything from apartments, to suites, to studios.

A crib is available upon request and there may be a small up charge.

This hotel offers four outdoor swimming pools, including two pools that feature waterslides for kids.

In addition to fully-equipped kitchenettes, there’s also a buffet restaurant which guests can enjoy on an all-inclusive basis as well as bars and a snack bar.

MarSenses Ferrera Blanca Hotel Family is located at Sa Partio, s/n, 07669 Cala d’Or, Mallorca.

Located under 500 meters from Cala d’Or’s most beautiful beaches (Cala Gran and Cala Petita), Inturotel Sa Marina is one of the top family hotels in Cala d’Or for beach-lovers.

The hotel offers 165 luxurious apartments with private balconies, some of which include pool or garden views.

Inturotel Sa Marina offers four outdoor pools –  two lagoon-style pools suitable for any age and two plunge-style pools for kids. In addition, there’s also a heated indoor pool (open from September 15 – June 15). 

This family-friendly property also offers a buffet restaurant, a snack bar, and a lobby bar. 

Families will love the supervised mini club offered five days a week (for children ages 4 – 12 years) and the children’s playground (for children ages 3 – 12 years).

Meanwhile, adults can get those steps in at the on-site fitness center and/or relax and rejuvenate at the spa and in the hotel’s hot tub and sauna.

Inturotel Sa Marina is located at Avenida Calonge, S/N, 07660 Cala d’Or, Mallorca.

Private on-site parking is available at a fee of 15EUR per day.

Located on lovely Cala Ferrera Beach, seasonal Barceló Aguamarina is open for families from April until October.

The 400+ rooms range from singles to suites and some offer beautiful sea views.

Barceló Aguamarina offers two large outdoor swimming pools – including one on a solarium – that are suitable for the whole family.

The hotel features two restaurants, one of which offers buffet-style Mediterranean and one that serves up à la carte international dishes.

All-inclusive options are also available.

Families with children can take advantage of Barcy Club, offering everything from educational workshops, to kid-friendly activities, to themed parties.

Barceló Aguamarina is located at Avenida De Felanitx, 1, 07669 Cala d’Or, Mallorca.

Private on-site parking is available at a fee of 18EUR per day.

BLUESEA Club Martha’s is a large family-friendly resort set easy walking distance from a sandy beach.

The expansive property features 279 rooms (including 213 apartments with kitchenettes and 66 studios).

A complimentary crib is available upon request.

There’s a total of four swimming pools on site – three outdoor pools and one heated indoor pool.

As for dining, there’s a main buffet-style restaurant, Natalie’s (featuring international dishes), a pizzeria, and Moogie bar (which offers coordinating entertainment).

An all-inclusive package is also available, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks, and snacks in between meals. There’s also a half-board option which comes with a buffet-style breakfast and dinner (it doesn’t include drinks, which are an additional fee).

Sport-enthusiast families will enjoy hitting the tennis courts and football court located on the property.

BLUESEA Club Martha’s is located at Carrer Des Parc de La Mar, 6, 07660 Cala d’Or, Mallorca.

Private on-site parking is available at a fee of 10EUR per day.

Charming Meliá Cala d’Or Boutique Hotel had me at bougainvillea…

This lovely 5-star is less of a typical island hotel and more of a tropical garden oasis (right up my nature-loving alley). It also happens to be one of the best boutique hotels in Cala d’Or (and arguably one of the best boutique hotels in Mallorca, too).

Plus, it’s super kid-friendly, which was a non-negotiable for me, seeing as we were traveling with our (then) 6-month-old.

This pretty boutique hotel offers 55 rooms in six styles (Classic, Premium, Junior Suite, Grand Suite, Junior Suite with Kitchenette, and Presidential Suite).

I recommend booking one of the suites (we were in the Junior Suite) if you’re traveling with a baby, as you’ll have more privacy with a separate bedroom and living area.

This set-up definitely came in handy for putting our daughter down for the night and then enjoying adult-time in the living area. Some rooms (like the Junior Suite) also include a private balcony featuring a view of the garden/pool.

A complimentary crib is available upon request. (Keep in mind that “crib” in Spain is equivalent to a pack & play in the U.S.)

Speaking of the pool, it really is the shining star of this property. While not the largest as compared to pools at some of the other family hotels in Cala d’Or, it’s the idyllic setting that makes this one special.

Plus, if you hit bougainvillea season just right (I’m afraid we were a bit off on this one), you’ll enjoy an entire pool engulfed by these stunning signature Majorcan flowers.

I love that the outdoor pool has a separate area for the kiddos, which my daughter loved.

There’s also a pool bar with a very posh island vibe.

Head inside to take advantage of the heated indoor pool as well as a hot tub perfect for a relaxing soak.

As for dining, the hotel has a lovely restaurant (Es Laüt) on-site, but given its small size, you’ll need to reserve a dinner table in advance.

Otherwise, you can just enjoy the tasty (and included!) buffet breakfast each morning.

Again, this property wins points for the kid-friendly aspect, as they’re fully prepped with highchairs. We actually saw numerous other babies (and older children) dining with their families each day and felt right at home!

In addition, the hotel also offers a small outdoor playground for little ones.

There are also two cabins where you can book a beauty treatment and/or massage for an additional charge as well as a small on-site gym.

A bonus is that the property is walking distance from beautiful Cala Gran, making it super convenient for a quick beach outing.

Melia Cala d’Or Boutique Hotel is located at Portinatx, 16-18, 07660 Cala d’Or, Mallorca.

Free on-site parking is available for guests, but at limited capacity. There’s also a paid parking area you can utilize.
